Very Ambitious
Card
Original Author: Oren Yeshua
Effect: A spectators card rises from the center to
the top of the pack repeatedly. (As in the ambitious card).
Then the performer places the card in the center of the pack
once more, and the card jumps out of the pack and lands in the
hand of the performer.
Card Trick:
Have a spectator select a card and place it the center of
the pack. Hold a break above the card ABOVE the selected card
with the little finger of the hand holding the pack. Perform a
pass bringing the selected card second from the top. Perform a
double lift showing that the selected card has risen to the
top. Replace the card (cards) on top of the pack. Now take the
top card (not the selected card) and place it in the center of
the pack. Once again the selected card will appear to rise to
the top. Riffle shuffle the pack and make sure the top card
becomes second from the top. (riffle the last card from one
pile onto the top card of the other.) Lift the top two cards
as one and make a sharp bend in them along the width. Tell the
spectator that you are bending the selected card so that they
will be able to see it at all times. Replace the card (cards)
on top of the pack. Take the top card and place it in the
middle while holding down the other bent card on top of the
pack. On the count of three release the pressure from the bent
card on top and it will appear as if the bent (selected) card
has risen to the top. Now false cut and false shuffle the
pack. Perform an AutoCut as seen on Jeff McBride's Art of Card
Manipulation volume 3. Have the spectator place a hand on each
pile. Instruct them to lift one hand. Whichever hand they
lift, take the pile with the selected card on top. Tell the
spectator that their card will now leap out of the pack, do a
triple flip, and land in your other hand. Now hold the (1/2)
pack in your strong hand in position for a one handed fan.
Place your thumb at the back lower left hand corner of the
pack. With a sharp flicking motion (using your index finger as
a pivot), the card will spin out of the pack. It is a knack,
that can be acquired after repeated practice. Catch the
spinning card in your other hand and the trick is complete.
