Hole-in-Card

Effect: A card is placed on top of the
deck, and when the magician slams the deck with his hand,
another card went through the top card!
Secret: The magician has palmed a card
beforehand, and when he brings his hand down onto the deck,
the palmed card goes to the top.
Pre-performance: You must palm a card. To
palm a card you must:
A) Take a card from the deck.
B) Place the card in the palm of your
hand, back of the card is against the hand.
C) Close your fingers so when you look at
the back of your hand you don't see the card.
D) Cup your fingers just enough to hold
the card in place.
E) Drop your hand to the side so you don't
draw attention to your hand.
Performance: Show the audience a card (Not
the palmed card) and place it on the top of the deck. Then,
say "I shall now put a hole in this card letting another card
to the top of the deck." Then you slam you hand with the
palmed card (palm down) onto the deck. The audience won't
notice the card if you do it fast enough. Then take your hand
away from the deck without the card. Then pick up the top card
and it is different from the other top card! Amazing!
**Not to be done a second time for the same audience.
