Effect: Performer gives spectator a heart
faced card (say it is an ace of hearts) face down between the
thumb and index finger. Performer then gives spectator a
diamond face card (the ace of diamonds) on top of the other
card. The spectator thinks that he has a heart and a diamond.
The performer grabs the heart from the bottom of the spectators
fingers and says, "I'm teaching you the move right now in slow
motion." He then does it in fast motion and pretends to switch
the cards by shoving the heart card in and out fast between
the thumb and index finger. Performer then puts the card back
on top and says, "What do you bet, hearts on top or on the
bottom?" When they make a choice and turn the cards over they
are a club and a spade!
Preparation
On the top of the deck have a heart, spade, and a diamond.
Make sure that you have the spade between the two and place
this on top. Also place a slub on the bottom of the deck. For
example, on top of the deck you have an ace of hearts first,
queen of spades second and ace of diamonds third. The bottom
card of the deck is the queen of clubs. Now you are ready!
Presentation
Start by lifting off the top card (ace of hearts) and say,
"Remember hearts." give this card to spectator between his
thumb and index finger (looks like spectator is pinching the
card) faced down. You then do a double lift and show the ace
of diamonds and say, "Diamond." (To give you some time to get
a double lift ready you can ask the spectator what card he has
and to look at it to make sure it is ok.) You then place the
diamond with the queen behind it on top of the deck and give
spectator the queen which he thinks is the diamond. Place this
on top of the ace of hearts. You say, "I will teach you the
move in slow motion." You then put the queen on top take the
heart from underneath, and turn it around to show spectator
and say, "See I have the heart." After this you take the heart
shove it between spectators fingers fast. What you are trying
to do here is make the spectator believe that you are
switching the heart and the diamond. After you shove it in and
out your hand goes to the top of the deck, release the heart,
and grab the other queen from the bottom of the deck. You put
the queen on top of the other queen in spectators hand and
that is it. The most difficult part of this trick is the last
switch. To make it easier you have to keep on talking. While
you are switching from the deck say, "Now, do you bet the
heart is on the top or bottom?" You have to be quick and keep
the spectators eyes off of the deck. The spectator will then
make a prediction but they are totally wrong!!
Effect: (This trick is best done with one person
only) Magician gives the Ace of Diamonds to a spectator. Next,
the magician takes the Ace of Hearts and gives that to a
spectator. The spectator tries to guess what order the cards
are and then the magician asks the spectator to turn the cards
over. There are the two black kings in it's place!
First, set up the first four cards in this order: Ace of
Diamonds, King of Spades, Ace of Hearts, King of Clubs. First,
give them the Ace of Diamonds and then ask them to turn it
over to make sure that it is the Ace of Diamonds. At this
time, you have the perfect opportunity to pull off a double
lift. Then, you show them the Ace of Hearts, flip it over, and
then give them the top card which is really the King of
Spades. Try to confuse them by getting them to believe that
the Ace of Diamonds is now really the Ace of Hearts from a
special move you did (or something like that). Then, take the
Ace of Diamonds from them and give them the King of Spades
again (This of course is all face down). Ask them, "without
looking at the card, what card are you holding right now."
This is the sneaky part. Take the card you are holding right
now (the Ace of Diamonds) and switch it with the second card
in the deck (that will be the King of Clubs).. You must do
this while the! y are confused. Then, give them the card back
and ask them what order they think the cards are in. At this
point they will be completely confused and will not be able to
give a good answer. At this point, tell them to flip over the
cards and they will see that the cards they were holding have
changed into the kings. (David Blaine did this trick on his TV
special) The trick can be done with just about any cards, just
make sure they're done with face cards that are opposite
colors.
